Welcome to NCVC Elite
2010 Goals (It's All About the Team):
The number one goal of the 2010 elite team is to develop a cohesive team that enjoys training and racing together, fostering an environment that riders desire to both stay with and move into. The long term goal is to build a local powerhouse through establishing a base of riders both from within NCVC and from outside that come to NCVC and stay with NCVC for the long term even beyond their peak years. By so doing, we will always have experienced riders to mentor developing riders of any age.
Team results are a key element of enjoyment of this sport. With that in mind, the NCVC team focus will be on team results within MABRA. Individual results will, for the most part, be subordinate to team results. We aim to make up for our relative disadvantage in individual capabilities with focused teamwork. When the opportunities present themselves through proper preparation, individual results will focus on upgrades for select riders especially those with the potential to go beyond Category 1 and younger riders (both in terms of age and time in the sport).
2010 Focus and Schedule (Local Racing Scene):
The NCVC elite team plans to focus on local racing for 2010 while reaching out to several regional races to carry the DC flag and provide challenging opportunities for riders and the team alike. We plan to continue our efforts to reestablish NCVC as a local power. We will also do selected races outside MABRA, but the focus of these races will be to gain team cohesion and tactical acumen to ready ourselves for results within MABRA. In particular, we plan to be represented in all races on the MABRA calendar with specific focus on Tyson’s, Poolesville, MABRA Senior RR Championship, MABRA Senior Criterium Championship, and Washington Co SR. As far as races outside MABRA, we intend to send riders to Tour of Ephrata, Tour of Christiana, and Tour of Millersburg and up to three major regional races such as the Joe Martin Stage Race, Green Mountain Stage Race or Tour of Battenkill.
