Welcome to NCVC.net

Are you thinking about joining a racing-oriented cycling club? NCVC is a great place for all riders, from established elite racers to complete beginners. NCVC is dedicated to the advancement and promotion of amateur road and off-road bike racing. Members reap the benefits of NCVC's 40+ years of existence, a large roster of riders that spans every category and age group, and the finest sponsors in the sport. Racing

Because we’re dedicated to advancing amateur competitive cycling, membership in NCVC is open to anyone who agrees to abide by and uphold our constitution, bylaws, and club procedures and to represent our sponsors in the best possible manner. We’re proud that our members contribute to NCVC’s success both on and off the bike. You’ll be expected to volunteer for the races, rides, sponsor events, or charity events that NCVC promotes. You don’t need race experience to join, but it helps to be an avid rider with the desire to race your bike.

NCVC members organize various group rides throughout the year, but our main effort in group riding and racing education happens between October and March (the off-season for road racing). We have clinics on racing and fast riding as well as rides for building fitness and club cohesion.

RacingTo become a member, click on one of the following: "Junior" Tab above (for 18-and-under riders), "Womens" Tab above, or "Virginia/Maryland/DC Riders" on the left (for men older than 18 in your geographic area) and provide your details. We’ll respond with information about the club and the process for applying online and we’ll answer all your questions before you join. We usually suggest that you take part in at least one of our club rides or meet a representative for a ride before you join so that you get a flavor of our club and how it operates. After discussing the club and your goals on a ride with a representative or with a member on one of the club rides, you can apply online and begin your racing career with NCVC. After we process your application, we’ll grant you access to our listservs and website so you can get pertinent news about upcoming clothing and equipment purchases, races, rides, and club activities.

We have two clothing and equipment purchases each year, they occur mid-winter and late summer. It helps to join before those purchases to get fully involved and ready to race with NCVC.

 History of the Club

Olympians, national champions, and more... The "stars and bars" have a history dating back to the 60's. Some clubs come and go, but not NCVC.
